About the Quantara Challenge

The Quantara Financial Modeling Challenge (QFMC) is an international student-led competition designed to introduce high school students to the interdisciplinary field of quantitative finance. The challenge aims to provide participants with an opportunity to explore how mathematics, statistics, and data analysis can be applied to real-world financial problems.

Quantitative finance is a rapidly growing field that combines mathematical modeling, statistical reasoning, and computational methods to analyze financial markets and decision-making under uncertainty. However, many traditional finance or mathematics competitions available to high school students focus either on theoretical problem solving or simplified financial concepts. Opportunities that allow students to explore the quantitative and analytical side of finance through modeling and data-driven thinking remain relatively limited.

The Quantara Financial Modeling Challenge was created to bridge this gap by offering a platform where high school students can engage with realistic financial scenarios and develop practical quantitative skills.
